Get ready to clear out the clutter and Chunk Your Junk. The next chance to get rid of hard-to-dispose-of household items isSaturday, February 1, 8 a.m. – noon at the City of Frisco’s Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut St. Entry is from southbound 1st Street only. The line will close to vehicles at 11:30 a.m. to allow those waiting to be serviced by the time the event ends.
Commercial accounts are not accepted. A valid driver’s license showing your current Frisco address and a current Frisco water bill are required to dispose of all household chemical, paint, electronic waste and other items. The City of Frisco set a record last year, as it welcomed a total of 5,076 visitors to its Environmental Collection Center. These residents helped the community divert a huge amount of electronic and potentially hazardous waste from local landfills.
Among the items collected: 8.7 tons of batteries, 58.4 tons of electronic waste (new city record), 89.5 tons of chemicals (new city record) and 13.4 tons of cooking and motor oil (another new record).
